With no cricketing activities going on, it seems like former England cricketer-turned commentator Isa Guha is going through her photo album as she shared a memory from 2005 when she bowled to legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar in the nets.
While sharing the photo on social media, Isa wrote that Tendulkar might not remember the time when she bowled to him for over an hour, however, the former India batting great replied to her post, saying, he could recall the time when he faced quality bowling in the nets.
“One of the finds from lockdown! He won’t remember but in 2005, recovering from an elbow injury, the Little Master asked for some net bowlers & I was one of the lucky few. We bowled for an hr – Sachin batted left-handed too & was just as good,” Guha tweeted on Thursday.
Appreciating the then 20-year-old Guha, Tendulkar wrote, “I was looking for some practice and I got to face some good quality bowling courtesy you.”
Vividly remember this Isa!

The memory shared by Guha was from the time when Sachin Tendulkar was recovering from a tennis elbow injury, which he endured in 2004. The injury ruled him out of action for over 2 months and resurfaced when he returned in a Test series against Australia in 2005.
Eventually, Tendulkar underwent surgery in London and made a stunning comeback against Sri Lanka in October.
“I realised after my surgery I wasn’t able to pick up a cricket bat, I was really depressed. I would call my friends at 2 a.m., 4 a.m. in the morning saying c’mon lets go for a drive I can’t sleep. And they would join me and without their support, my family’s support, Anjali’s parents. Of course, at home Anjali was there who’d be constantly be telling me you know the good things that have happened in my life to focus on those things,” Tendulkar had once said recalling his rehab time.
